Oggi le prove libere: nella prima sessione, con la pioggia, Nyck ha ottenuto il miglior tempo, rifilando sei decimi a Jake Dennis; nella seconda, asciutta, è invece il britannico a spuntarla, su Gasly e Nyck in terza piazza.

De Vries quinto in qualifica 2, quindi partirà  in quinta fila. Caspita, sui 5 decimi che mediamente si è beccato dai primi ad ogni giro durante l'intera qualifica ne perdeva 3-4 solo al primo settore (che dura poco più di mezzo minuto), mentre al terzo settore ha fatto segnare addirittura il record assoluto
