E comunque sarà  solo un numero ma vederli andare sopra il muro fa tutta un'altra sensazione. Sarebbe bello se lasciassero la pressione libera per la gara, ognuno si gestisce come vuole poi chi arriva arriva

Ma l'ordine di uscita dai box da cosa è dato? 

Se non sbaglio da un ballottaggio avvenuto ieri.

 

Qui l'ordine d'uscita delle vetture; notare che sono presenti anche le T-cars, le vetture di riserva. A ogni vettura è garantito almeno un tentativo, poi chi vorrà  potrà  riprovare.

 

Qui un breve riassunto delle modalità  di qualifica

 

May 17

 

* All entries are guaranteed one attempt to qualify between 11 a.m. and 5:50 p.m.

* The fastest 33 cars will make up the provisional field based on the fastest four-lap average time.

* Entries can make multiple attempts.

* Once the qualifying session ends, the top 30 cars are locked in to the field.

* However, all 33 cars must re-qualify May 18 to determine final starting positions.

* The fastest nine cars advance to Fast Nine Shootout May 18 to determine the Verizon P1 Award.

Qualifying lines (there will be two qualifying lines at the end of pit lane):

Line 1: Cars that are unqualified or have withdrawn their previous qualifying times. Priority will be given to this lane.

Line 2: Cars that have already qualified but want another attempt and have not withdrawn their previous qualifying times.

*Multiple attempts are permitted without withdrawing a time by entering Line 2.

* Teams can withdraw their time and enter Line 1, which will have priority over cars already in the field.

* Teams that make multiple attempts can only improve their times if they have not withdrawn their time to enter Line 2, meaning, even if a driver records a slower four-lap average, that driver’s previous (faster) time will stand.

May 18

Group 1 (Positions 10-30):

* All May 17 times are erased and positions 10-30 will re-qualify to determine starting position.

* Order will be the reverse of Saturday’s rankings.

* All cars will make one attempt.

* Lineup will be determined based on fastest four-lap averages.

* In the event that there are only 33 cars entered, this group will determine positions 10-33.

Group 2 (Positions 31-33):

* All Saturday times are erased and positions 31-33, and any entry that has yet to make one attempt to qualify, will then qualify to determine the 11th row of the race.

* Entries can make multiple attempts.  

Group 3 (Top Nine Shootout):

* The top nine cars will run in reverse order based on May 17 times.

* All cars will make one attempt.

* At the end of the session, the cars are ranked 1-9 based on their four-lap average during the session.

Per farla semplice, oggi ad ogni macchina viene garantito almeno un tentativo: l'ordine d'uscita delle varie vetture è determinato da un sorteggio. Quando tutti saranno scesi in pista potranno essere effettuati ulteriori tentativi per migliorare la prestazione ottenuta in precedenza. A questo punto i piloti si dividono in due: chi riprova senza "cestinare" il tempo ottenuto nel suo primo tentativo si schiera in una fila, chi invece decide di cestinarlo e di ripartire da zero con un nuovo tentativo si schiera in un'altra. Logicamente nell'uscita in pista i secondi hanno la precedenza sui primi. Si continuerà  così fino alle 17:50, quando ci sarà  la fine delle prove

No scherzavo , ma tanto senza nessuno da "bumpare" tutto l'interesse è concentrato su domani sera quindi se anche uno non capisce non si perde granché. Alla fine tanto casino per avere più pubblico a casa ma domani si rischia di averne meno in pista, perchè ho letto che molti si potevano permettere di venire a vedere il pole day proprio perchè era di sabato. Ora chi viene da lontano e magari il lunedì deve lavorare non può ripartire di domenica a serata inoltrata per aspettare di vedere chi fa la pole. Comunque se in gara Kurt Busch finisce nei primi 5 o meglio sarà  la fine

Secondo me si riferiva soprattutto alla reazione dell'opinione pubblica. Vedere arrivare sul podio, o addirittura vincere, un pilota Nascar alla 500 miglia di Indianapolis sarebbe uno schiaffo colossale per la Indycar

Esatto, dopo le belle figure in Nascar dei vari Sullivan, Pruett, Gordon, Montoya, Franchitti, Hornish, Patrick e altri, ci manca solo la controprova che loro possono venire e suonarli pure in trasferta per chiudere definitivamente la questione  . Poi Busch è un talento assoluto e non gli tiferò certo contro, però se non andasse proprio benissimo non mi dispiacerebbe troppo. Saavedra e Davison avranno rinunciato, per ora, al loro tentativo. O non sono pronti (molto probabile visto che hanno girato pochissimo), o le condizioni della pista ora non sono di loro gradimento.
