Formula 1 tyre provider Pirelli has named the three compounds for the 2016 Spanish Grand Prix, the fifth round of the F1 season. The Barcelona round will mark the first appearance of Pirelli's hard compound in 2016, the other choices being soft and medium. On the track that is well-known for producing high degradation, Pirelli has opted to name a set of hards and a set of minimums as the two mandatory compounds for the race - with a set of softs to be made available for Q3. The announcement means that available tyre choices for seven of the first eight races have now been made known, with the selections for round six at Monte Carlo still pending confirmation.

Whiting: Watkins Glen 'wonderful' for F1 Charlie Whiting, Formula 1's Race Director, reckons Watkins Glen would be a "wonderful" track to add to the sport's calendar, after visiting the track on Tuesday. Whiting travels to Watkins Glen – located in New York state – every three years for a track inspection, and his latest stopover coincided with recent resurfacing work. "I think that the track looks marvellous," Whiting explained to gathered local television networks in a video published on Watkins Glen's social media channels. "I am really, really impressed with the work. It has been done to a very, very high standard." Whiting suggested that Watkins Glen, which hosted the United States Grand Prix from 1961-1980, is capable of staging a Formula 1 race again, providing it can overcome usual hurdles. "I think it is one of the most charismatic circuits in the US," he said. "There are newer ones like [current United States Grand Prix host venue] the Circuit of the Americas, but it hasn't got the character that this track has got. "I think it would be an absolutely wonderful circuit for Formula 1 cars to race on, but we all know [joining the calendar] it is not quite as simple as that. "As far as circuits in the US go, I think this is right up there."

Tra l'altro il sloveno ed il croato sono due lingue completamente diverse - io di sloveno sapro' piu' o meno tanto quanto tu di croato... @Kraven VanHelsing : il tuo esempio con Baricello e Fisicella e' una cosa che c'e' ancora oggi, e secondo me va messa nel folder "ignoranza giornalistica" - perche' se devi commentare qualcosa, partita o gara che sia, ti vai a preparare un po' se hai voglia, no? Non e' un problema del forum, ma per non aprire un topic per questa sciochezza domando qua': Come si pronuncia corretamente Lamborghini? Come e' scritto (che mi sarebbe logico), oppure, Lamborgini (ma perche'?)? Grazie.
