    Robert Wickens

Robert Wickens is one of Canada’s top international race car drivers with a career decorated with race victories and championship titles won on both sides of the Atlantic. In 2015 the Guelph-based racer will drive the #6 Team HWA Silberpfeil Energy Mercedes AMG C63 DTM entry in Europe’s premier touring car category, the DTM Series. Wickens made his DTM debut in 2012 as part of the Mercedes Junior Team before being promoted to the official factory supported Mercedes team, HWA AG, for the 2013 season. The Canadian continues to showcase his talent with DTM victories in both 2013 and 2014, Wickens now firmly part of the established Mercedes line-up. Robert’s pedigree was forged in open-wheel racing where, prior to his move into the DTM Series, he enjoyed a stand-out 2011 season winning the prestigious Formula Renault 3.5 Championship. That same season he was an official Formula One Reserve Driver for Marussia Virgin Racing and enjoyed F1 tests with both Marussia and Lotus F1 Team in Abu Dhabi – proving to be fastest driver for each team. Other notable open-wheel accomplishments include claiming the 2006 Formula BMW USA Championship, winning for Canada in the A1GP World Cup of Motorsport and finishing Runner-Up in Formula Two and GP3 in 2009 and 2010 respectively. In June 2017, Robert made his Verizon IndyCar Series debut, driving for Schmidt Peterson Motorsports as a substitute driver for Mikhail Aleshin.
