This 87P was used only for the first race of the season in Brazil, since the 871 was not ready yet. It is true that the differences are minimal but the 87p was entirely a F3000, with an F1 engine applied, and in fact the fuel tank with which it was equipped would not even have allowed the entire race to be disputed ...
The same operation was also carried out by BMS-Dallara.
