segnalo che l'anno scorso gli "scarsi" teammate di dixon nel momento del bisogno, a sonoma, sono finiti entrambi davanti all'avversario per il titolo Montoya e gli hanno permesso di vincere il quarto titolo.

Si, ma la domanda che mi pongo è: vale la pena fare una squadra che ha una qualche utilità solo sui (pochissimi) ovali o a Sonoma?  Poi ovviamente il conto dei titoli dà ragione a Ganassi, ma continuo a credere che sia un discreto spreco

Nel triennio 2004-2006 le Ganassi facevano acqua ovunque, era una scuderia che le prendeva regolarmente da Andretti-Penske e altri. Infatti a oggi mi chiedo come sia stato che Chip in quel periodo tranne Dixon non riuscisse a fare molto. 

Adesso almeno porta a casa grossi risultati. Forse prendendo Kanaan si aspettava una risposta non vincente ma almeno decente da mettere accanto a Dixon. Kimball credo lo vedesse come un giovane da far crescere che non è cresciuto. Per Chilton per ora paga ed i risultati non sono così pietosi quindi....

Un 3° posto a Newton in Iowa 2016 che lo rimette in pista e corrobora di tante batoste!!!!

Ora era un anno circa che non partiva dal palo..... 

Io credo che quest'anno non prenderà nuovamente il titolo, non ci spero, perché contavo su Montoya e adesso vedo più propenso Pagenaud e in parte lo vorrei per Rahal o Newgarden.... ma resta sempre quel pilota che a mio modo di vedere è come Mears o Schumacher.... non invecchia mai....

.......Scott Dixon supera il record di vittorie che reggeva dagli anni '60 con Hill e Clark.... un record di 3 vittorie consecutive che il kiwi aveva eguagliato nel 2007 raggiungendo Graham Hill.... ieri il neozelandese diventa il pilota più vincente della storia sul circuito del New York State per una massima serie a ruote scoperte....

Una vittoria che credo sia la più schiacciante della stagione con oltre 15 secondi su Newgarden giunto secondo. Un distacco già neutralizzato 3 volte e che ogni volta la Ganassi-Dallara rimontava in brevissimo tempo....

Niente da fare Dixon è il Re del Glen.... l'incontrastato Re!

Non per contraddirti sempre Fede ma con quella macchina magari anche Daly avrebbe potuto farlo.... e comunque lui qui è il Re ci riesce non dico in automatico, ma quasi spontaneo.... fosse stato così tutto l'anno..... 

L'unica cosa è il distacco pauroso che ad ogni ripartenza metteva fra lui e chiunque avesse dietro.... robe da paura....

Tutte e quattro le Dallara di Ganassi erano molto veloci, ma l'unico che riusciva vagamente a star vicino ai tempi di Dixon era Kanaan, poi fermato dal problema alla ruota. La macchina era una spanna sopra alle altre, ma bisogna anche saper farla andare e in questo Dixon ieri è stato decisamente magistrale

Dai, c'è anche tanto merito di Scott qua. Non sono suo tifoso ma le sue prestazioni in questo weekend mi hanno quasi emozionato.

Garde non mi scorderò mai Nashville 2006 o 2007 (non ricordo).... quando Dixon non riusciva a trovare l'assetto della sua Ganassi, poi San Wheldon (che era un preparatore da paura) la provò la settò per lui e Dixon..... vinse con Wheldon che arrivò 2° in coda.... Scotty, a detta di molti del settore 'è il pilota che ogni tecnico al muretto vorrebbe avere'. 

Sarò sfegatatamente di parte ma Dixon (che mi stava depravatamente sulle bolls nel 2007) per me è uno dei più grandi Campioni attualmente in pista fra le formule di massima serie......

Come vittorie schiaccianti credo sia seconda solo a quella di Newgarden in Iowa. Però, vuoi anche la location, quella di ieri è stata veramente emozionante.

Boh, per me resta il miglior pilota di F.INDY in assoluto!!!!! Ed ogni stagione aumenta nei record qualcosa di più alto... questo è e resterà negli annali fra i più grandi piloti di sempre fra le ruote scoperte.

Ai livelli di Fangio, Senna, Nuvolari, Foyt e Schumacher.

Dunque, Kanaan ha raccontato che è il fatto accaduto verso le 22.00 ora locale in una tavola calda del genere di quelle dove si riceve il vitto stando in macchina. Il tutto è avvenuto non lontano dall'autodromo. Due minorenni, pensate, di anni quattordici e quindici, si sono avvicinati alla vettura con i finestrini abbassati e non hanno mostrato alcun scrupolo nel decidere se puntare o meno le loro pistole verso Dixon e Franchitti (anche la moglie del neozelandese era presente) intimando al primo di consegnare il proprio portafoglio e cellulare. Vi si erano recati per prendere qualcosa da mangiare anche per altri piloti.

Documentary will let Dixon's greatness shine through

For someone who has earned the spotlight with his tremendous racing achievements, Scott Dixon certainly doesn’t like to bask in it. But with each added accomplishment on track, the glare of success shines brighter on the Chip Ganassi Racing star.

It makes all the more amusing the fact that the four-time Verizon IndyCar Series champion and 2017 points leader is the subject of a feature-length documentary in production. Teammate Tony Kanaan has witnessed up close the staff of crew members for the yet-unnamed film who have shadowed Dixon at races and at home. Kanaan chuckles at the sight of Dixon squirming as the center of attention.

“It’s funny, he has a whole entourage of people (following him),” Kanaan says with a laugh. “The stuff he hates the most in life, he has it all now.”

Yet, like the rest of the INDYCAR community, Kanaan agrees that the attention is clearly deserved. For evidence, one need look no further than June 25 at the KOHLER Grand Prix. All four Team Penske drivers out-qualified Dixon and appeared to have superior cars for the race, but the 17th-year veteran outmaneuvered his chief rivals to win his 41st career Indy car event and move within a victory of tying Michael Andretti for third place on the all-time list.

Just as impressive, the 36-year-old Indianapolis resident who calls New Zealand home notched a race win for the 13th straight season, extending his own Indy car standard.

But Dixon has shown to be much more than an outstanding Indy car driver. With the luxury of competing for Chip Ganassi’s sports car teams in endurance events, he has twice been on the winning team in the Rolex 24 At Daytona and last year finished on the podium in a Ford GT at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in his first drive on the iconic 8.47-mile road course.

The Dixon documentary is being produced by Matthew Metcalfe, who also produced the acclaimed film of another New Zealand racing legend, “McLaren,” released this year. The film crew is spending time with Dixon at several Verizon IndyCar Series races this season and was with him for his return to Le Mans last month.

Kanaan says he and Dixon were friendly in the past, but have become close friends since Kanaan joined CGR in 2014. The Brazilian says the documentary will allow racing fans everywhere “to be impressed with how good he is.

“They keep talking about his stats and stuff, but I don’t think people realize how good he really is. It’s amazing to see how natural it is as well. I know he puts effort in but it (seems) kind of effortless sometimes. It p***es you off.”

To which the self-deprecating Dixon quickly interjects, “It’s all the illusion, and I paid Tony obviously a lot to say that.”

Dixon earned the nickname “Iceman” years back for his cool demeanor on and off the track. Kanaan says he has benefited from the chill his teammate exudes.

“I’m completely the opposite of him, as far as personalities,” Kanaan explains. “He’s really cool and I’m completely emotional and worry about stuff that doesn’t matter. Hanging with him is like, ‘Huh, I guess it can be done without worrying that much.’”

At which point, Dixon calmly utters a phrase he often recites in team meetings: “You’re going to be OK, Tony.”

Kanaan laughs and, to no one’s surprise, becomes more animated.

“That’s his favorite thing!” he exclaims. “I say, ‘Dix, Dix, what do I do?!’ (And Dixon replies,) ‘Dude, you’re going to be fine.’ All right, if he says I’m going to be fine, it helps.”

The documentary, slated for release in 2018, will show Dixon’s love for wife Emma and daughters Poppy and Tilly in scenes filmed away from the track. Fans will also be impressed by the quiet generosity of the man.

“There’s a side of Scott that he does a lot of things for a lot of people,” Kanaan says. “And I understand when you do things like that, you don’t want it to be announced or people to know because you don’t do it for that. With this (film), people are going to see the other side of him and it’s really cool.

“We know how good he is in racing, but I learned how to admire him a lot more – not because of the stuff he’s done on the track or how relentless he is, because that comes very natural. The other side is what made me really appreciate him a lot more because I didn’t know. And if you don’t get close to him, you will never know because he won’t let you in.

“Emma might tell you everything about it, but that’s Emma.”

True to form, when pinned down on what he thinks the documentary will reveal about himself, Dixon deflected once more.

“It’s not just about me,” he says. “It’s not one person that makes anything happen, it’s the whole process from many people. It’s the people you surround yourself with that enable you to do what you do at your best.

“I think that’s going to be interesting. I think seeing the process of the team, I think the crossover between INDYCAR and the GT program is going to be fun for a lot of people to see.

“For me it feels very awkward, but the crew have been really good. That process makes it a lot easier.”

How awkward? Ask Kanaan.

“I should have a camera and show you how uncomfortable he gets,” Kanaan chuckles a last time. “If you know him, you know he’s uncomfortable.”

To which Dixon adds with a smile, “Emma’s enjoying it a lot.”
